Say what ?

After all the claims that there was no WMD in Iraq, then where'd this come from ?

Maybe ISIS brought it back in their drive from Syria ?

What mess this is turning into.

Perhaps we didn't actually find any WMD's or the equipment for making them because they would point straight to our own corporations or our own government as the source?

If my understanding is correct Sunny this is a very old facility where the weapons were destroyed or made inoperable a long time before the second gulf war.

Richard,
I hope so, because the first paragraph says otherwise.

" The jihadist group bringing terror to Iraq overran a Saddam Hussein chemical weapons complex on Thursday, gaining access to disused stores of hundreds of tonnes of potentially deadly poisons including mustard gas and sarin "

I believe it was a military spokesman that stated the weapons were more of a hazard to someone that tried to use or move them. They were never fully destroyed because they didn't anticipate this, I would imagine they had their reasons for not destroying them. I would certainly hope if this was a threat the B2's are leaving Missouri right about now.

Just a minor point, at first I was hearing about ISIS and ISIL. I wasn't sure if it was two groups or different names for the same group.

Turns out, they refer to themselves more as ISIL because the "L" stands for "Levant". A term we aren't familiar with in the US.

The Levant (/ləˈvænt/), also known as the Eastern Mediterranean, is a geographic and cultural region consisting of the "eastern Mediterranean littoral between Anatolia and Egypt". The Levant today consists of the island of Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and part of southern Turkey (the former Aleppo Vilayet).

So you can kind of get an idea of how far this is going to go.
