Two of my favorite smells,... salt air from the sea and fresh cut hay.

Real pretty view there Wilder....but can ya do me a favor and move that picnic table next time instead of cutting around it?!?!?!?!?!

fresh hay is definitely one of those distinctive smells....same with that salt air SunnyBoy mentioned although I only smell that when driving through the salt marshes on the way to the beach when I get to the beach I don't smell it anymore. Another distinctive smell around here is when they open up the mushroom houses and clean out the mountains of 'soil' in prep for the next crop.

titleist. like to get some of that soil to spread on my fields. 40 tons would work to start.

the amount of hay is down this year compared to last. I think the exceptionally cold winter killed off the weaker roots, and hardier ones survived. if so I need to splurge and fertilize(top dress) the fields. Second field was loaded with red clover and timothy...... which I planted 6 years ago and never really grew much. go figure!? large corner field at bottom of farm looks good, I top dressed it 2 years ago, but it is thin some, looking straight down from tractor seat. will know for sure once I cut and bale it. usually get about 1200>1400 bales off large field.
