Stay safe East Coasters

Stay safe East Coasters

PostBy: Pancho On: Thu Jul 03, 2014 9:05 pm

Looks like you guys have some stout storms moving through today/tonight and then you get whatever that hurricane throws your way. Some of the models have a bead drawn on Wilson's place (which would also put Barnstables in a bad spot too).

Be careful and have a safe and happy 4th if you can.

I got home from work at 15:30 about 20 minutes after I got home we got hammered with some severe thunderstorms. Must've dropped several inches of rain in a matter of minutes. My front yard is under water. Basement should be dry, I heard the sump come in once. So, it's either clear of water or the 3.5 year old $400 pump is no longer working and the basement is flooded. Either way, I'll deal with it tomorrow. In the plus side I still have power.

The Good Lord is now providing natures own version of fireworks around these parts and I must say it is an awesome show to watch. Spectacular lightening and thunder that shakes the house. Wow! With this who needs fireworks? ;) Nah... Just kidding.... WE ALL NEED more of those man made fireworks. So glad N.H. is less than 30 mins away. HAPPY 4th everyone!

Arthur is finally bringing some much needed rain to this part of CT. but no winds yet. Lately all the storms ran up the western side of Ct. & into Mass. missing us. Our lawn is mostly brown so I'm hoping that we see a few inches of rain before it's over.

We're currently in OC MD. He slid buy us as a cat 2 about 70 miles out to sea east of us. We got off easy. The main band was north and east as it went by. You could see the waves driven to the north when it was going by and now that Arthur along side of us, the low winds from the north are driving them to the south. We got some rain and winds but I've seen a lot worse from a big thunderstorm cell. NJ is getting more rain than this area of MD has over the past three days. Power has been off three times at my house.

Well.....looks like it could have been worse and it looks like it'll be farther right of Cape Cod than they were thinking it was going to be yesterday (though still looks like it'll be windy/rainy). This is good.

Hopefully you guys that were affected can still make the best of the 4th.

Stay safe gang.

You are starting to sound like a winters day at the farm since ConEd put in a "new" power line at the farm (the problem is elsewhere sir). That is why (and I assure you that is the only reason) I had to go out and buy three antique base heaters. That's my excuse and you will never get me to change my story. :) NEVER. :dancing:

Pouring here now. Pretty good lightning show last night. It is nice that the rain cooled things off. With the fireworks and Pop concert last night hopefully my drive to work won't be bad. Happy Fourth. Matt
