July 5th, 2014

PostBy: Freddy On: Sat Jul 05, 2014 5:47 am

Good day! Well, as good as it gets during a hurricane tail wash out. It's raining cats & hot dogs! The coffee is on and I'm going to cook a good breakfast. I'm thinking basic bacon, eggs & toast. Stop for a minute & join in!

It rained very hard last night from 9PM on. It's still raining! Every city & town in the state postponed their fireworks....expect Bangor, my local "big city". Yup.... saying "Once they are loaded there's on;y one safe way to unload them", Bangor shot off the entire show on schedule. I'm assuming there were at least two witnesses.... I mean... the guy that lights the fuse.... wouldn't he have a wife, or bring a friend? Such a waste. Next door though, nephew Roland had a HUGE display. He waited & waited. Finally around 11 there was a break & he lit up the sky with his show. It was very good! He shouldn't be spending that kind of money.... I'm betting he dropped over a grand in 45 minutes....maybe twice that! A fool & his money type thing, but for 45 minutes he was king of the hill. Marty would have enjoyed it.

Paul talked me into buying a bead blaster. I made a funky stand for it. Today's project is to paint the stand. Maybe even straighten the crooked leg LOL The picture makes it look worse than it really is. It is solid, doesn't rock & sits very level. Function rules! Out comes the paint. The crooked legs stays. We'll use it to make R2D2 parts look cool.

Hope you all have a smooth & peaceful weekend. Hug your loved ones.

The coffee is delish this morning Fred. Nice blast cabinet..it will serve you well. Glad to see you are keeping yourself busy too.

My 13 year old got up before me and I woke up to the smell of pancakes! I guess I did something right! Will be on Twin Lakes in the Berkshire foothills water-skiing with my girls today. Sun is out full force. Have a great weekend!

Morning. Coffee sounds good as does pancakes. That's a nice blaster, I always said I was going to get one but since I'm not working on my car anymore I have no reason for one.

I had to endure fireworks until 1:30 this morning, noise ordinance is 11pm. My neighbors are very inconsiderate. Other than that I had an uneventful 4th.

morning everyone....

today is pressure washer day...guess I'll wait a little while to start until the rest of the house wakes up so I have plenty of time for breakfast.

yesterday was engine maintenance day: the pressure washer (so it would run for today), the generator, the walk behind string mower, the rider, my FIL's 2182 garden tractor and finally I messed around lubing the accelerator linkage on my neighbors 955 which was getting sticky.

ended the day by watching some fireworks. we didn't get enough rain from the storm as it passed, not even enough to get the dust wet under the pine trees. but we did get a good bit of wind and some branches came down that will feed the firepit.

have a great day.

Morning all,

Freddy,
That bead box will be very handy. Can't imagine being without mine.

What are you going to use as a blasting medium, glass beads, ground glass, or something else ?

Basic is GOOD Freddy:) Real sunny with wind here on the hill. If the grass dries out I'm going to try a mowing venture on the CUB, we'll see how bad that beats me up. Got to hear fireworks from Skyline dirt track over the hill last night. That was about it for 4th excitement--that & thinkin about all this country has given this grumpy old fool. Have a good week-end all:) Freddy, I'm sure Marty DID enjoy the fireworks--just lookin at them from a different angle :D

Glass beads for now..... we are looking to remove tooling marks from the CNC machine & leave a frosty surface.

Surprisingly, for a cheapie, it not only came with a clear mask on the inside, it came with two spares! I put a bunch of LED lights inside & they're sa-weet!

Mornin all. Sunny and cool here. Dewpoint was 48 degrees last night, and we had a very heavy dew this morning. I forgot to check the temp when I got up.

No fireworks for us, but did attend a cookout at my BIL's place yesterday. After I got home I tried finding parts online that he needs for various equipment, but I've pretty much struck out on all counts this time. Bummer.

Take care and be safe all.
