Got a Reading Juniata that I put a 50cfm combustion blower (Dayton 1TDN7) on and removed the squirrel cage.

1)Adjusted red nut finger snug then backed off 2 turns
2)tri-burn will be no.

Initial coaltrol settings?
min feed? 8
max feed? 45

and is 50 cfm to much? should I damper it down with the sliding cover to start with by about 33%?

On V3 and V4 version of the thermostat our suggested starting points for Reading (non-triburn) settings are: MIN 4, MAX 24. As for the combustion air, you may want to dampen it down a little bit. If you get clinkers or see that even at MAX fire the burn line isn't getting to within an inch or so of the end of the grate you are probably burning too hot and need to dampen the air flow some more.

If you intend to burn it now and are using a natural draft chimney, you may find you need to use a higher MIN setting in order to maintain proper draft. If you're using a power venter, then MIN 4 should be fine.

Any more questions you can post here, email us at [email protected] or call the shop at 315-299-3589. If you call and get voicemail make sure to leave a message and contact information so we can get back to you.

Thanks Paul.. Its natural draft but I'm not gonna be firing it up anytime soon.. need to finish the install first. Then when it cools off outside ill have a baseline to start at. Have no idea if its V3 or V4 but I bought the standard unit directly from you guys back in Jan./ Feb. I could power the coaltrol up and see if its V3 or V4 if it matters if not ill just leave it be for now.

Same settings for both. If you bought it that recently it is a V4 unit. If you run into issues let us know! :)
