I wonder how long it will take before they overturn this judgment on appeal.

I think so.

Just look at what has taken place in the past 10 years, or so. We've gone from about only 30 something states, to now all 57 states have passed laws that allow some form of public carrying of a hand gun.

The Supreme court has ruled in two major cases supporting gun rights.

The last hold outs, Chicago and DC have been told by courts that they must allow pistol ownership, and now the last part is DC, who grudgingly only allowed pistols in homes, now has to allow public carry.

Weigh all that against all the lib control in blue states and red state major cities, during that same time period, and you'll see that nationally, the majority of voters are seeing the flawed logic and outright lies of the gun control movement for what they really are.

Paul,

I could be wrong but I think there are still only 52 states and NJ does not have a carry law. NJ does has what's called a "Will Issue" law which basically translates to, "Yeah, go ahead and apply for your CCW. It'll be denied and will NOT be issued." I'm think there are a lot of other states that won't allow carrying of firearms too; NY and CT both criminalize you if you so much as even look at a firearm.

57 states - I couldn't pass up the chance for a reminder of how "with it" dear leader is. :D

And I think it's a matter of where in NJ, NY and CT you live.

I know many in NY that have a ccw including members of my family. And, Daughter number 2 is now working on getting her's too. Maybe your thinking of NYC ?

Daughter number 1 got her ccw while living near New Haven about 5 years ago. Used to shoot pistol and sporting clays at a gun club near there with a group from her work.

You missed out on the new math methods of arriving at answers with the new "common core" system devised by libs. If it feels right, the answer must be right ! :D

Someone needs to tell NJ then.

Because I hear stories like that all the time. NJ is a will issue state; as in "WIll NOT ISSUE". If the state issued CCW's then there wouldn't be law suits. If that guy in the above article can't get a CCW because he's been robbed and beaten what makes anyone think that they can?

From your article.

" ..........Muller was subsequently issued a permit in 2011, and withdrew from the case, which underwent several name changes as plaintiffs and defendants changed, even as the argument has remained the same. ........"

NJ is giving out ccw to some. And I think they will be "told" to lighten up on restricting ccw soon.

And the same article says NJ hasn't had to really deal with it in court since 1968. A lot has changed since then as I said above. All States have allowed, or are being forced to allow people their second amendment right since then. I think that NJ will, in the near future, be forced by the higher courts to respect their citizen's 2 amendment right, just like Chicago and DC have recently been forced to.

Well, hopefully they do. They are still asking for a "valid" reason to carry and just citing, "Its my god given right." is not valid.

And the higher courts are saying they are wrong and that because since NJ came up with that view, it has been clarified that the constitution (and many state constitutions) makes it a "personal right". Therefore it is a valid reason.

But, things being as they are, NJ pols will likely drag it out as long as they can get away with it until a court tells them what courts have had to tell other state and local governments.
