Yikes! Don't do that again, OK? Oh, man, I feel bad for you. I hope it heals & you're all OK.

Last Thursday my Nephew did a similar.... held his hand too close when he pulled the trigger on a 16 penny. It hit a knot, pulled a U-turn & took out a slab of middle finger.... 7 stitches to knit him back together.

I'm fine. Swelling is almost gone. I can close my fist almost all of the way. No sign of any infection. Mostly a bruised ego. I don't recommend this to anyone. :P

Be careful from here on out. Once we get into our 60s we don't heal or bounce off hard objects nearly as well. Don't ask me how I know.

Tonight a foot issue from a Ford Jubilee as I try to teach a barn girl how to rake a riding arena. Drive it over to the tractor shed and I will fill you with gas says I. Comes over slowly and in a controlled fashion parks turns the front wheel sharply a the last second right onto my right foot. I'm the dumbass I knew she would be useless.

"Cheryl, your on my phkin foot move forward or back but do one of those things NOW". So she jumps of the tractor and screams.

Pain loves company. Don't complain, 80% don't care and 20% are glad you have the problem (CNB 2014).

Outcome is OK, Advil, xxx and a longing for a new coal stove. Why do we need two feet anyway, I can always hop.

Feel lucky nothing 'vital' was damaged. It happens sooooo fast that fortunately shock sets in and the pain is stunted for a while. Nice to have a 'wonder bar' handy or a framing hammer to remove the nail or nails.

Eyes, bone fractures, head area...you should feel lucky, and no need to beat yourself up, we have all been there. The pressure treated nail curling ones suck! Chemicals injected into fingers...and being caught at the same time.......

Do you guys ever notice on Holmes on Holmes that NO NAILS are used. Everything is screwed. I often wonder why, but this kind of event shows why they don't do much except finish nail things. Admit it, how many of you have used 'flying creatures ' as targets with the Hitachi, Dewalt, Senco or Bostich? How about your buddy for target practice? .Now we a re older and wiser, but we are bright enough to hold the safety back and NOT take a direct hit in the fleshy tissue of your finger!!!

At least she's not a fan of the Three Stooges, for whom the proper response would have been to ask you, "How is it, pretty heavy?". Hey, at 2800 lb on a 5.5" tire, how heavy could it be?

And does this mean your entire fleet of coal appliances is now hopper-fed?

P.S. Hope you have a quick recovery.

I know and feel your pain, it has happened to me in various ways over the years and it is never as much fun as it looks!!! An ice cold beer in the palm helps to sooth the injury as well, again I speak from experience. Scars show you lived a life of adventure!!! Be well. NWB
