Stoker Coal Boiler: 1960 EFM520 installed in truck box
Hand Fed Coal Stove: Crane 404 with variable blower
Coal Size/Type: 404-nut, 520 rice ,anthracite for both

TSox,gasoline has explosive fumes,heating oil does not, where it is allowed for a boiler in a garage or repair shop the requirement is that the flame must be 16" or more off the floor. Those are not my requirements,they are dictated by ins. & fire codes.If a basement setting is available that would be the absolute best place for a boiler for the reasons stated by others in previous posts.
