Seems both HNI and a good percentage of their dealer network had little interest in dirty coal and looked at all the coal product line as a negative to their glitzy product line-up...except when it came to taking your money...especially when it came for buying parts.

On another note...no more 85K/btu VF-3000 stoker boiler and the DVC-500???

Which Magnum will be built...the regular or the Super?

Should be a big machinery move to Harrisonville. Remember these stoves are for the biggest part one big piece of 1/4" plate bent and formed not your many flat plates all welded together.

Doug hasn't been seen around this parts for well over a month.

CONGRATS AHS on the purchase!
DCrane is always lurking... LOL

I say anyone other than Hearth & Home Technologies having control of Harman is a wonderful thing to ensure the survivability of a great American company. It's been painfully clear for a long time to those of us who could see the forest through the tree's that Hearth & Home was first cheapening the product via parts (china), labor (mexico), assembly (QQ) & finally customer support & dealer support (most of you already know the hardships they imposed on dealers so no need to elaborate on that).
akin to the AMF days of Harley Davidson (we all know how successful that was)LOL.

Lets all hope H & H does not know something we don't regarding coal (they are a mega billion $ conglomerate, so I wont assume any of us could fathom the politics and insight they may hold and be aware of), In my opinion common sense and previous actions tell us H & H cares about one simple thing (money & profits) and my hope is that because coal is a very small and regional side of the business (centered in Pennsylvania), this is just not what H & H is into... they are into Billions and worldwide markets (reduce cost, increase profits and development/improvement in massive shipping/marketing)... coal stove lines of any kind just don't cut the mustard for that type of plan.

This AHS undertaking is only GOOD for Harman, AHS and Coal in general! we wish them all the best and we should support their efforts here at coalpail.com the best we can!

Maybe you could talk AHS into changing the spelling of Harman to HarmOn?

Spoke to my local Harman dealer today. He said all warranties will be honored and parts will continue to be available through Harman dealers. Will be called Harman Legacy for one year and then just Legacy.

I hope AHS brings back the regular mag stoker that was a very reliable workhorse.

I believe Strongly in Niche Markets, and I think your Acquisition of what's left of the Harman Coal Line will work out well for Your Company. How You chose to Market and Expose Your Newly Aquired Product Line will be Extremely Important. How You rebuild the Dealer and Support Network wlll be a Make Or Break Pathway to sustain Your Health. Thanx for Sharing and Staying with us. I really Hope You bring Dane Harman's Stoves and Furnaces back to their rightful Market Place Position. Don't forget about the strength of the discontinued models that Folks lament not being able to buy anymore. Good Luck and Fortune To You All !

Wow great news! H&HT was going to run those stoves right into the ground. It's no wonder their numbers didn't look good with the nonexistent customer service!

Congrats AHS! I wish you success in restoring a quality American product to it's former glory. Go git 'em! :punk:

Well this good news puts them back on the buy list for my next stove purchase. I didn't even look at them last time due to the poor CS rep.

It still requires the Educational Process. Many still don't believe the facts about Coal, so each of us should continue to show folks that Coal is safe, efficient, and the most cost effective solution to heating and hot water production of any fuel available. The fine folks at AHS have the ability to expand the Harman quality legend, and offer the products from a dealer or direct sales that knows about what they sell. If you are NOT a coal burning person, how the hell can you tell others about the benefits and realities of coal. Keep us informed, and thank you for making this step. :!:
