Can anyone tell me about an IH 460 Utility Tractor and a Great Bend 330 loader with quick attach bucket? Here is a link for the tractor, I can't find anything for the loader.
It came with a bush hog also. It does not have a 3 point hitch, but a Quick Hitch. I think it is a live PTO, but not sure. I'll have to check that. The bucket is powered both ways, but the loader arms do not power down. Seems kind of goofy to me. This machine appears in excellent condition with very low hours. Also looks tiny for the weight & HP on the Tractor Data link. This is my first ever farm type tractor, any insight appreciated.

That tractor would be considered 50 HP, tractors are based on the pto hp not on engine rating. Not quick hitch.... that has the IH FAST HITCH (2 points) which was a very good setup ,John Deere tried to buy rights to use it but IH management in total stupidity said no. John Deere went with the 3 point hitch used on the Ferguson tractors & 3 point became the standard, fast hitch died slowly till IH standardized 3 point also. That tractor has INDEPENDENT,LIVE PTO, if you want the PTO engaged, grab the lever, pull back,it is engaged with no dependency on the foot clutch. I do not know any thing about that particular loader. If the price is decent you wont go wrong getting this if it is in decent shape. It is equipped with good hydraulic system for its time period.

I had a IH 1068 with a quick attach loader. Whoever named it quickattach should have been hung it was very complex to attach, it took hours. If the loader stays on or is mounted rarely then that's OK. Yours however may be a just a qiuickattach bucket like a skid steer, I just don't know the model. The IH tractor range of the period was very reliable however and way better than a Chinese knockoff like Kioti.

Thanks for all the response. Yes the loader stays mounted, the bucket/pallet forks are quick attach. It only came with forks, the local IH dealer said it is an oddball system, he could get a new bucket built in about 3 weeks for $1,400. That's not happening. I bought a John Deere 72" bucket for $200 which my son will modify with quick attach.

That system works great, easier than the JD quick attach system. To drop the bucket, raise it and tilt back a little to take pressure off the pins, pull a spring loaded handle and lock it back. Set the bucket down, tilt down & back away. To pick it back up just tilt down, drive into it, raise and tilt back. The spring loaded handle self releases and the pins lock in. Basically the same as the 5th wheel on a road tractor.

I really don't know what it is worth. I paid $3,800 with the loader, forks and pto driven mower. A local cop sold me a Danuser G 20/40 post hole digger with a 24" bit for $400. It is for a 3 point hitch, so I must modify it to fit my tractor. That model is rated for 20-40 hp. Is there any chance it won't fit my shaft? I called Danuser, they told me the output shaft is 2". The Tractor Store has a County Line 9" bit for a 2" shaft for $140 plus tax. Does anyone know if that will work, and is it decent quality?

Thanks again for all the nice feedback.

You might want to ck into fast hitch to 3 pt adapter that you could use on multiple pieces of 3 pt equip.,you don,t state which country you are located in so I can't advise which place to go to for the adapter.Price sounds good, course we haven't seen the tractor  ,is it a gas or diesel ?? does it have a TA = torque amplifier ?

I'm in Md, burning Pa anthracite, tractor is gas. I was looking at the 3 pt adapter, the local dealer was nearly $400. Found something online I think is the same for $265 plus shipping. Since the mower is already mounted my son thought it would be easier to just fab up the post hole digger. I will probably not use anything else, unless I just stumble across a good deal on a straight blade, box blade or pto driven rototiller. I think it has the torque amplifier, but it doesn't work. When you pull the lever it just free wheels, or so I'm told. I have not been on it. I read something about the TA pump goes bad and you must split the tractor to effect the repair. From what I read, the tractor will operate just fine without it, and since I don't anticipate pulling a plow, etc, I don't really need it. I will post some pics when I can. Except for the faded red paint she looks like new. I hope that JD Green on the bucket doesn't give her some sort of complex though.

Wengers farm machinery of Myerstown,Pa. might have that adapter,or watch for farm auctions with older equipment, might find one that way. The TA free wheels down hill in low range normally,if it disengages while driving then it is obviously not functioning properly & you are right ,you won't really need it for loader work & other light work like that.Green bucket shouldn't be a problem, the faded red will still be in control, pushing the green along, lifting the green, helping the green to get the job done. Can you tell I like the IH/Farmall line best ? Good luck with your new toy, pics work even with faded red.

There's an old saying around here--"if it's red, keep it in the shed" LOL got 2 of them broke down in fields right down the road. Just something to think about. ;) Lots of tractors for sale for that kinda $$$-- BUT---have fun with her.

Yes, I called Wengers looking for a used bucket and the 3 pt hitch adapter, they had nothing. I have purchased parts for my Case 580 Extend-a-hoe from them in the past. This was kind of an impulse purchase. In fact, I only looked at it while sitting in my truck stopped in the road about a 100 feet away. I figured I was paying top $$$, but it was sitting right down the road, so there was no cost to look at it or haul it home, plus I know the guy to be an honest businessman and he said it was a nice machine. He had owned it about two years and only replaced it with a 4wd tractor because it sometimes got stuck mowing the back of his property. He said the previous owner had just spent $7,000 having the loader mounted. This will replace the two IH Cub tractors I used for mowing and my two man post hole machine. The clock is showing less than 4000 hours, and the condition of the machine reflects that, IMO. Must have spent most of the last 50 years in the shed, since it's red. Anyway, I don't anticipate ever getting on it myself. I really bought it for my 14 year old grandson. His Dad was killed on Christmas and he lives with me. This has given him something else to think about and keep busy with. I just need to learn about it and keep him safe with it.

Excuse a dyslexic old fart. I had mine for 15 years and it was flawless pulling a Alamo/King Terrain super heavy duty 15' batwing - what a ride. Land clearing the right way.

Hell tt, she'll do ya good for many years. Basic maintenance is of the utmost importance. My 8N is 1946 & still puts a bunch of these fancy jobs to shame. Can't hate an old Model T motor :)
