As I was pulling out of gas staion in town monday, a car parked across the road, in a diagonal parking space, decided to back out and cross to opposing lane of traffic(when I was in middle of road) instead of lane of traffic hes SUPPOSED to back into by law, and hit rear quarter of new car. F----IN JERK!!

His insurance company is giving me a run around. My company said waiting for his company to contact them about repairs, but his insurance company hasn't gotten his staement about what happened. I told my insurance company fix the CAR, wait or no wait for him!!! He might never call. Need car for vacation to new hampshire in 4 weeks.

Its not fun driving up in town anymore. I wish they would finish that damn 4yr project already. Sorry to hear about the car.

You've got luck like I do. Never backed into anything in my life sober ... until I bought my first new pickup. $2,200 in damage ... and that's fixing most of it myself!!! No insurance involved. Just adds to the clusterf**k ...

That’s a bummer and the irony that you were leaving a gas station. Mr Murphy can be an *censored*.

Why is it that things like this never happen to old beat up vehicles?

Make sure you demand OEM parts on your repair. The other driver's insurance company will want to use aftermarket parts, to keep their costs down. You have the right to demand original equipment parts in PA. Ask to see the order before any work is started.
I hope it works out for you.

Because if it did you wouldn’t care.

About 25 years ago my cousin had an old beater. While at work a truck delivering there hit the front bumper and bent it. He got an estimate for the bumper and the trucking company’s insurance paid him the amount of the estimate and he never bothered to fix the car. The estimate was for more than he paid for the car. :D

A brand new car, they better not use aftermarket parts. I’m sure they might try. If you know a good body shop and have a relationship with them tell them exactly how you want it fixed and they are used to dealing with insurance adjusters. The VW body shop would also WANT to use OEM parts so they may be the best place to have it fixed. It doesn’t look too bad from the pictures. Did you tell the insurance about the neck pain? That’s a good ace in the hole, if the car gets fixed right it could go a long way to helping the whiplash.

Took it to a local body shop, thats got a A-1 reputation for body work. Asked about oem parts. Owner said there will be no after market, or salvage yard parts used. I said I won't allow insurance to use aftermarket or salvage because cars NEW!!!! Question is is DEF diesel tank in rear quarter cracked? I saw a small trail in driveway after driving it home from acccident.Plus I saw dried crystals in servivce port recess in trunk a day afterwards. I think neck on tank is cracked where it comes thru quarter panel/trunk floor pan. Slight dent in body seam in that area behind bumper cover. if so asked body shop guy to complete flush out all of that quarter panel and trunk to remove it from vehicle, because its highly corrosive on metal, paints.
Also body man has done graphics work for me before for when I had my dirt latemodel race car. We have a good repor. :)

The rule of three "R's:" Rust Rules the Road.

Any rusty hulk I ever had people would get out of the way if they saw it coming. Never so much as a parking lot door ding!

Only time my cars ever got hit was when they were new. Same for others I knew. My brother's 64-1/2 Mustang got nailed three times in it's first 6 months. All three times it was parked. He sold it because he was becoming tired of seeing so much of the body shop people.

If the shop is approved by the ins co they should be able to do the estimate and order the parts right there.
