My Cousin's Husband has one, think it has 27K on it. Something happened with the paint though. That's how I got started with the Buick's. They were living in on half the side of double block at the old house and he went with Dad to get a car for my Mom. They ended up with a Century which I purchased a few a years later. When I sold it it there was 200K on it and it still ran great. Never put anything into it other than the normal stuff that just wears out. I haven't bought anything but Buick's since.Rob R. wrote:Those Grand Nationals were (still are) a very impressive car.

The internet is telling me that it's at 5200rpm.Sunny Boy wrote:
So I'm left wondering if maybe your 3.8 SC motor is developing that HP rating at a much lower rpm than the Taurus 3.5 263 hp @ 6200 rpm ?

Finally got the title about 1 week ago and the official registration/sticker about 4 days ago. I've never seen any of that stuff take more than a week. Was starting to get a little bit worried, not sure what took so long but in any event it's all free and clear now. ..... never again. LOL

It took that long to get through all the *censored* on the state's computers. Then they could finally get to your paperwork......Richard S. wrote:Finally got the title about 1 week ago and the official registration/sticker about 4 days ago. Unfortunately the Regal had to go, after some further inspection the rust situation wasn't looking so good. It wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Actually got a little more than I paid for it so all around it wasn't a loss.
Looking for another one, GS or GSX would be even better. I will be carefully inspecting it for rust this time. This is going to take a while but I have second vehicle to drive until then fortunately.

Well, at least you are an expert in titles now, so you can buy it in whatever state you find it. By state I mean geographical location, not condition, no pun intended.Richard S. wrote:Unfortunately the Regal had to go, after some further inspection the rust situation wasn't looking so good...Looking for another one, GS or GSX would be even better.
And speaking of geographical location, once in a while I see a used car in Maine's Craigslist that is located in Canada. I shudder to think what might be involved in bringing THAT into the country.

Yea, don't buy a car from a dead guy unless you have official death certificate in hand.rberq wrote: Well, at least you are an expert in titles now,
It killed me to sell that car because it was perfect.......... except the rust underneath.

Yeah, dead folks' signatures are hard to read.Richard S. wrote:Yea, don't buy a car from a dead guy unless you have official death certificate in hand.rberq wrote: Well, at least you are an expert in titles now,

That's what I guess some people do ... just fake the sig. How would you know if you meet only one seller/person on an "AND" registration and he/she hands you the paperwork with both sigs on it?
I guess, best advice is to avoid such registrations all together or do what I require: make the seller go down to DMV to do the transfer right there and transfer the cash there too. Whenever I buy or sell a used car (except from a dealer) I always require a trip from the seller/buyer to DMV. Hey, they have to go there anyways so they cannot object to such a trip. especially when selling ... I would hate to have the new owner get into a wreck and then be a party to a lawsuit...I'd be find at the end but it would still cost me $$$ (maybe thousands).
Car ownership is a little bit murky .... not so clear cut as one would think.

There was two names on the title and apprently in NY you only need one siganture. Not the case here in PA. I was considering doing that but this deal was a little flaky to begin with. Fortunately I was able to obtain the death certificate without too much difficulty but I was getting nervous. Would have worked out in the end because Freetown Fred would have been the proud owner of a Regal GS for one hour. LOLdavidmcbeth3 wrote:

Don't be afraid to search the southern states. My body shop friend in Maine located a truck he wanted down south. Through our network of shops, he had a local shop check it out for him. Then he flew down to get it and drove it back home.Richard S. wrote:

Let me know if you find anything and I'll see what I can do for you.

Found one in SC but it's a little rich for what it is, it has Abboud package which apparently jacks the price up a little but I can care less about that. Matter of fact I'd probably be trying to remove the emblems.Rick 386 wrote:

I have a cousin that lives in NC, I may be visiting him if I can find something down that way.

Wow that one is pretty sweet but not sure I like the white. I always liked the Riviera's as well. But I don't know if they ever put SCs on them.Richard S. wrote:Found one in SC but it's a little rich for what it is, it has Abboud package which apparently jacks the price up a little but I can care less about that.
