Augusta, Maine had a couple tons today. I took 10 bags because that was all I could carry in the station wagon. The warehouse guy said it is selling fast once people know they have it. He said Kimmel has had trouble supplying as much as TSC needs, and that's why it is slow coming in.scoobydoo wrote:TSC in Waterville,ME has about 86 bags of nut.Someone ordered it and didn't pick it up.The lady,Tia,said she would take 10% off to get rid of it.

For what its worth, the TSC in Grove City, Pa is still taking coal orders. I ordered one more ton just before Christmas. No firm date of arrival but I expected that.
So far that Kimmel's nut is burning fine in my Coal-Ez 50. I keep the hopper filled, shake it once or twice a day, and poke around to help fine ash to the grate. Even when I'm away for a day, if the air control is set so it idles, the stove has still been burning on my return.

Have you ever called Neumann trucking in north norwich?? My cousin gets bulk nut coal there..and I think they have it bagged also..Sunny Boy wrote:Got a call yesterday from the Hamilton NY TS that the order I put in Nov 16 for 10 bags of nut was in. I asked if the rest was spoken for. They said, not yet. So I bought 20 bags.
They honored the 15% off sale rain check for the original 10 bag order, but couldn't give 15% off on the other ten bags I added today. So 15% off on the first ten averaged out to $4.60 for all 20 bags.
For those who's local TS is telling them they can't get more Kimmel's, they may not know what to do, or they are BS-ing you because they may not want to deal with it. Both the Norwich and Hamilton TS stores here in central NY have been able to get reorders of Kimmel's nut after being sold out.

I tend to think it's more of a problem at the warehouse that mu area TS stores use, there are a lot of items they just can't seem to get anymore. The flea & tick drops that I always got there have been out of stock for months & my neighbor has the same problem with something he gets for his horses.

I just bought 20 more bags and I put my name on the last ton on the floor, I will pick it up Monday. The manager told me Kimmels is having logistic problems with an independent trucking firm so they can't order more this season. My neighbor told him a friend of his (trucker) is sitting idle and would make the trip for a full load. The manager is calling his boss to see if this can happen, stay tuned should have an answer in a day or so and if this is possible I'm sure you folks out there know some truckers as well.

Just searched TSC site for coal inventory at local store in Dover and can't find Kimmel coal on their website. Anyone else having the same results when checking inventory?

After seeing your post, I also checked their website. The coal has disappeared. There's no way to check inventory anywhere.Seagrave1963 wrote:Just searched TSC site for coal inventory at local store in Dover and can't find Kimmel coal on their website. The only TS store I ever get to is on the North side of Reading, PA. I believe that store refused to order anymore after their first pallet was gone in October. I noticed that some other stores near Allentown, etc., were getting replenished now and then. I had picked up 10 bags, just for a small backup in case I couldn't make it to my coal pile outside. At that time I was told that they had had it a month and only one other person had bought any. One bag! It did seem to cause some of the other bagged sellers to drop their prices to $259. a ton from $289. or $300.
