What do you have to work with?
Skill levels?
Where are you?
What are you trying to heat?
Why build it yourself when there are so many out there to choose from?

I think the only answers to the question posed by Rev. Larry is that you can build it cheaper or of a better design.

Buying used I don't think you can build it cheaper, so that leaves only a better design, and that depends heavily on your experience and understanding of what makes a good stove.

What amount of water in what amount of time are you requiring?

Those answers makes a heck of a difference as to How you're going to get there from here.

Many people outfit their stove with water coils to heat domestic hot water or other things.. Is that what you are interested in achieving? Here's a link to my setup.. Welcome aboard. :D

I'm moving this to a more appropriate forum, you should get a better response there. Good luck
