Slow Computer

I removed Firefox and reinstalled it. It's still hogging up the CPU time, can't figure this out. This is only happening on one PC, both are running Firefox. If I close Firefox it stops, but anytime I have a website open it's continuously using almost all of the CPU time. I'm confused.... :|

Could be issues with the applets on the page or it might be your anti-virus/malware software.

Try using Chrome. It's free and has a smaller footprint than either IE or FireFox.

Are you removing the personal data when you uninstall?

I removed Firefox and reinstalled it, I was thinking along the same lines, all my Bookmarks are still there after the reinstall. I'll check it out. It just slowed down to a crawl again. Thanks for the info. :D

Should have mentioned it before but export your bookmarks before doing clean install.

That's what I will do, thanks for the suggestion. I do want to save my bookmarks, there's a lot of them.

Chrome will import your bookmarks for you during the install. I use Chrome almost exclusively now. IE is slow and FireFox has occaisional issues.

A new issue just showed up: When I move the mouse around and the icon passed over anything that is clickable the icon "hangs up" briefly. Any ideas? It's annoying.

Edit:
Just checked the task manager, seems AVG is doing something in the background. If the problem continues after AVG stops I'll report back.
