Hello all, I am looking at a used Keystoker 105 direct vent. Our house has a chimney (insert fireplace that the previous owners blocked off, but the chimney is intact and clear). The exhaust is on the bottom of the stove. In our previous home we had a Keystoker without the DV that was vented through a chimney. Has anyone had any experience venting a DV keystoker to a masonry chimney? Would I even need the DV motor if the chimney provides good draft? And would the exhaust being on the bottom back of the stove, as opposed to the top of the stove as on our previous unit, be a problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies. I'm really looking forward to getting back to coal heat!
