Living in Lebanon County, I try to hold off till November if I can. But I am in the mood to get that baby glowing. Just got it prepped for the burn, so just waiting for the 4 ton delivery to arrive and a month's time weather change!

Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Reading Juniata
Other Heating: Peerless Boiler

I had my Reading Juniata going a few times, but mainly just to get it close to dialed in. My dad and I both purchased new coal stoves early August to stop spending so much on oil over the winter. My wife said tonight she would like to wake up to a warm house in the mornings now. I just lit mine again tonight and most likely won't shut it down now until it needs cleaned. I had ran it for a few days in row over the last weekend to see how low I could set the idle timer on the thermostat control Reading ships with their stoves. I can set the idle timer down to the lowest setting and the stove will keep a nice small fire on the plate, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide band of fire at idle, and it will keep it for darn near ever. Call for heat from my t-stat, and the fire picks up very nice. The three days in a row I burned it, I only added 1 5 gal bucket of coal to the hopper. My basement stays warm, my floors stay warm, and I should be able to keep bare footed t-shirt and boxer temps all winter long.

I have been running my K-lite for a week now, I got it dialed in (at the moment) and house is a constant 70 degrees. My wife loves the heat that coal produces. and as the saying goes, happy wife, happy life. All in all, I am happy I am burning coal this winter!

Accuweather is reporting 37 degrees in Wadsworth, OH and 40 degrees in Medina, OH right now. I live smack between them.
