The Dancing Lady Blues
To the tune of almost any jazz rift
I woke up this morning.......uhhuhh (rim shot)
I went down the stairs........uhuhh (again)
I looked in the corner........uhuhh (again)
And what did I find.......uhhuhh (again)
The stove in the corner........uhhuhh (snare drum sizzle)
Had nothing but them blue lady dancin blues goin on (drums pounding harmonica building)
Them dancing blue lady blues.......yeah.... (bam full gone blues)
Them dancing blue lady blues......
That's all I could see and all I could want......
Them dancing blue lady blues.........(harmonica wails)
Yep folks I lived in New Orleans for a while and spent a lot of time at Preservation Hall and snuck in a few jazz clubs as a teenager.
After a 12 hour low as I dared to take it burn I get up this morning and it's 42 outside, 72 in the living room, 72 in the dining room, 71 in the kitchen, 70 in all three upstairs bedroom and 70 in the bathroom. On about 3/4 load of 6 year old Reading pea coal all I get is a fine white powder. I can account for the one degree drop in the kitchen because I did have the door open in the kitchen to the enclosed backporch that has 5 leaky windows and a leaky door.
Sigh.......Everyone has a thorn they must deal with...
Love this stove...

The war department made a motion for an early start to the annual burnt sacrifice to the gods of the north, but I pointed out that they (Not being omnipresent) where not close enough to our location to appreciate our efforts and may take offense if they thought we where sacrificing black rocks to some other lesser gods who deserve only oil, gas or wood burnt in their honor.
I did promise to prepare the alter my dogs and cat faithfully worship at all winter for the coming festivities which allowed us to table the motion for a few weeks.

Way to go Rev. Larry I too love the stove and watching the fire, dancing blues all day and night!...I played "Green Onions" by Booker "T" and the MG's played the long version By Roy Buchanan.
