Anyone know of a good quality Anthracite supplier of bagged coal near Dalton / Clarks Summit / Scranton? (I'm not going to get a chance to build a bin, hence the bagged coal)
I'm brand new to coal (or non-traditional heat in general), and I'd like to pick up a few tons in preparation for old man winter.

Hi Mixelplix. Welcome to the forum.
I'm right up the road from you in Factoryville. Agel in West Scranton would probably be your best choice if bagged is what you want.
When I got back into burning coal a few years ago I used the Agel bagged and it was ok. I'm not sure if they deliver bagged though.
I used to pick it up myself as needed that winter.
Currently I get bulk delivered using pallets with Waste Management bagsters that I bought at the Dalton do it center. This pic is from
two years ago when I picked up bulk with a Ford ranger. Last year I doubled up on this system and got a delivery. Cheaper in the long run.
I'm still trying to perfect the "Bagster Bin" method though.

Thanks Kevin and Mozz!
Agel doesn't delivered bagged coal, but it is available for pickup at $6.50 per 50lb bag.
I do have the ability to pick it up, so I think I may run down this weekend and pick up a ton.

That price for a 50 lb bag is decent. Please report back on how the coal performs for you.Mixelplix wrote:Thanks Kevin and Mozz!
