19* here in western Pa at 6:00 Monday morning. Don't shut the coal down yet. We usually have low temps in the low 30's through april. Two years ago we had 3 nights in a row at the very end of May that were below 30*

1" of rain possible tonight and tomorrow. Just what I need. The pumps are finally starting to slow down. The Really Big Pump has lowered the pond across the street quite a bit, I would guess about 10" or so. Yes, it's still here and has been running since Saturday morning, non-stop. We'll see...

Looks like it'll be in the 40's here in Mass too (daytime) for the next week. I've already gone into coal conservation mode & am just trying to burn off the rest of this bad coal I still have. (have about (7) 50 lb bags left & have found that, if I'm real careful during shake downs, that I can keep from jamming the grates....So far!) I've managed to make it throught the whole winter with just shaking down once a day~!! (adding coal, as needed between shakes) I owe this to the blower fan I installed on my stove early this year! (let's me keep the house warmer while operating the stove at lower temps)
Hopefuly I'll end the season with maybe 10 bags of Blascak left.

My last coal pick up was only a 1/2 ton, as I wanted to move my coal bin and didn't want to relocate a bunch of coal. Well, I ran out, so off I went this morning for another 1/2 ton. Maybe, I'll just ride that around in the back of the truck, 'till the new bin is done.

16* F this morning, the Harman is still cranking away and keeping the house toasty. I'm gone Wednesday through Sunday (or late Sat night) each week till the second week in April, so the wife is getting a little tired of cracking the whip on the 16 year old to fill the hopper and empty ashes.

Was in Cleveland last week so got to enjoy a couple inches of snow as I was arriving and then 5" the night before I left. No snow left here though. :)

I sold the Keystoker A90 in the garage so just letting that sit at a cool 40* to 50* F since I'm not there to use it. It is maintaining a decent temp above freezing due to the location cut into the hill side and sharing a wall with the house.

All in all I think I'm ready for the next season :surrender: :woot:

The storm that dumped 6-8" on Chicago and it's northern suburbs, and 5" on Cleveland, left about 7" on my truck in the airport parking lot at Detroit Metro Airport... It's been in the teens each night,, just getting to 31-33* in the days.. forcast to be about the same for this week 24th-30th.

The AA boiler likes the lower water temp setting I'm currently using, and the slightly warmer temps.. I'm using a little less than 200# per day,, I hope to see that drop some more in April.. I'm probably going to burn till the nights stay in the 40-50* range..

We don;t have much snow left, still teens at night, but getting up 30-40's+ during the days. The house will stay about 65-66 with the stoves idling, so usage is down quite a bit, I have about 500-750# left from the (4.75 bulk + 1 ton bagged). Once it's gone, that's it for me this season. get them cleaned out and ready for next year!

It's hard to believe you're talking about turning off the stoves. I figure we have at least 1 to 2 months of heating left. It was 14 at the house this morning and -14 up in northern Maine. Like they say "location is everything".
