High stove temp

I bought one of those magnetic thermometers today and put it on the front of my stove just above the door. With my coal-trol max feed rate at 36 and my current feed rate at 67 the thermometer is reading about 515 degrees. In the owners manual it is stated not to exceed 500 degrees stove body temp. With the weather getting colder tonight I can see my feed rate going up and therefore the stove temp will also rise. Is this high temp going to harm my stove in any way?

Thanks for the reply. If it is tested to 725* then I guess that I will just sit back and enjoy the heat.

I had lost power last week and before I started it back up I cleaned it really good inside and under the feeder grate also. In about a hour or so I was close to 750. It eventually came down I have my coal trol set at 73 to 74 degrees and my house was 65 when I stated the stove back up. Mine usually runs in between the 300* to 500* range measuring above the door or under 300* if it is 40* or so outside. Its 4* outside tonight and mines around 450* at 57 feedrate maintaining a 74* temp. My min is 4 max 45.Since I added a fresh air intake my fire seems to burn brighter and hotter.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the excessive temps. As long as your clearances are within standard, you are not going to hurt the body.

Just checked thermometer on the front of stove again and it is at 550*
I have ran the stove high in the feed rate before and never would have guessed that the front of the stove was that hot.
