You can go on the TS website, search "coal" and with the local stores via your zip, you can see what stores have it. Mine did in eastern CT. Only nut so far. Bag picture on the website says its washed.

I wonder if TSC's other stores can order coal? I'll have to call and ask. That would save me tons of headaches.... Literally

The two nearest me refused to do so. Perhaps you will be luckier.

Just the road from my house in Belchertown, MA coal is available. $4.99/bag. Only nut though :( . When the new manager had a meet and greet last year, I suggested they offer coal. Wonder if corporate is just trying one type to see how it sells. They sell many truckloads of pellets here every year.

Mark, I am in the Springfield area and need rice coal, preferably bagged. Do you know of a supplier?

Paul,

I get my rice and buckwheat coal from CSM (Coal Stoves ad More) in Three Rivers, MA and have been getting it there for years now along with my LL AK-110. Give them a call.

Just ordered (rain checked) 1 ton of Kimmels nut coal from TSC for $237.00 from the Dover, DE store.

This is our first time using coal so, based on other members use, I am going to start with 3 tons on hand for the season. We have a fairly good house (Cape Cod) as far as insulation and are comfortable with 72-74 degrees. Winters aren't too terrible as far as bitter temps/wind so the 3 ton SWAG might be good unless someone here sees something I'm missing as a coal noob.

I burned a little over 3 ton in CT last season so you should be fine. I have the same stove as you. :D

Thanks EasyRay - glad I wasn't too far off. As it is the first season for us, I will be taking copious notes on coal type, use, temps, etc...............

Wow, surprised to see the one near Worcester has it in stock as well! Didn't know that.

Kimmels - had not-so-good experience with them in the past, but you know how coal goes.

My new bags of Blaschak are burning at 30° COOLER than the pallet I just finished up from a couple years back. No changes whatsoever to the boiler, except connector pipe cleaning (not much of a change after that either ...). :|
