WOW, well done. Enjoy the heat and remember what clean glass looks like because you will not see crystal clear fires for long. I tried everything and finally lost that clean glass fight.

Very nice , and I am sure you will enjoy burning coal like the rest of us . I would love to have a place to have a stove like that but happy with a boiler . Stay nice and warm .

With 6 heating seasons done and gone and the 7th just beginning,I gave up on clean glass long ago.A spackle blade gets the lumpy stuff off the glass at the end of the heating season, might even finish wipe with a damp rag,I've learned to enjoy the orange glow and the radiant heat while sipping a cold one and watching the boob tube from my favorite spot on a cold miserable evening, standing next to the stoker.

Hey guys, Thanks for all the nice feed back. I am very use to cleaning glass I had a wood stove for 20 years. But I really like to see the fire when I am home . I have built a little glass protector to help with this tiny problem. IT is pretty simple I just made some bottom clips and a high heat magnet to hold in place for ease on and off. so far it works great. Check out the pics.

I like the way you are thinking but  Don't magnets get weaker at higher temps? I was a freak about keeping the glass clean, I can only hope you are successful. Low fires are friendly to clean glass, "balls out" are another story. By the way "balls out" refer to steam power equipment governors working hard :)

I am only heating 1,000 sq. The house is only 2 years old. The stove will never see balls to the walls. :D
