hey guys getting things setup here and I am currently having my first burn inside the Koker Lite. I am noticing that the timer does not seem to move. I can hear a noise coming from it like its getting power. currently the thermometer on it is up to 200. How high might I expect it to go on this break-in event.
Thanks again everyone

Have you given it how much time to notice a change on the timing wheel?

I just spun the dial clockwise a few times. Noise has now stopped and dial seems to be moving on its own

Slow and steady, give changes about an hour. Be patient, the ramp can be long going up and down. It is 58 degrees outside, so your draft should be checked as well. My stack rarely exceeds 170 in the dead of winter.

How would I check the draft? Is that with a manometer? If it needs some sort of adjustment how would I go about doing that? Sorry for all the newbie questions.2001Sierra wrote:Slow and steady, give changes about an hour. Be patient, the ramp can be long going up and down. Yes with a manometer. You can borrow mine. I have a high end Dwyer that operates in the range we need to measure with good deal of precision.

FYI I just got a new koker... the timer runs backwards. Woke up to a cold house and a click click clicking timmer... I got a spare timer from my dad and watched it spin backwards. Needless to say I'm less than thrilled tomorrow I plan on testing keystoker customer service!

Yeah mine seem to stop spinning within minutes. Needles to say the fire died down and stove cooled off a bit. I'm disappointed as well. Guess I need to make a call tomorrow to customer serviceJfreethy wrote:FYI I just got a new koker... the timer runs backwards. Woke up to a cold house and a click click clicking timmer... Came home and gave the koker lite another shot. This time the timer worked flawlessly and continued to spin the entire time the stove was in operation. What concerns me is what happens about an hour in. The thermostat on the face of the stove reached 300. It seemed overly hot so I opened the doors and the gasket on the door literally fell right off onto the ground. Flames were the highest I've seem them inside the stove in the two fires I've had. Anybody with thoughts, did this thing just overfire?
Thanks as always

No over fire if the flume switch did not trip. The sides of my Keystoker 90 get way hotter than that.

I recently installed a k-lite and had a similar issue regarding the door seal. I opened it to check the fire and the top seal fell off, I put it back on and shut the door and let the stove run for a couple hours and have not had another issue. The highest temp I have recorded is 350 F on the front of the stove when tstat is calling for heat, but stack temps have been under 120F and draft is a steady -.03 to -.05 (set with manometer). It has kept my 2000 sq.ft. 2 story house at 70 degrees thus far and radiant heat is heating the living room floors to 76 degrees. I love my Koker Lite!
