116 Can I Run Lower

My 116 is running at 250 degrees at the top of the barrel all closed up is it possible to run it lower Temp.I was going to try the high temp silicon and. Wax paper trick

250 is pretty darn low. I would be quite content with that. Go ahead and try the permatex gasketing if you want. It's a good method of taking care of tiny cracks in the fit of the doors.
