I went out to leave for work this morning at 6:00 and there was heavy frost on the windows. Guess it is soon time to light the stove :D I don't want to use any more oil than I have to

38° f here this morning at 6:00am. I live near Lake Ontario and it keeps us a little warmer in the fall. Have my stove going, humming along at 200° on the barrel.

Same temp here Dave.

Glad to see you've got the EFM going, as I'm sure you are too ! The Crane will make it all the better ! ;)

My neighbor had the side window broken on his work truck a few weeks ago. I had a junker down back with good doors, I told him to come over & just swap out the door for one with good glass. He was just covering the door at night with a trash bag. Monday evening he came over & switched them, said he nearly froze that morning. It only took about 15 minutes & cost nothing, but he still had to wait until the last minute. lol

I couldn't wait to try out my new baby and what an improvement over the old one. I'm looking forward to a gratifying heating season.

We're supposed to have highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid-40s through next Monday here in 'da U.P, eh? Then highs in the low 40s after that. I think I'll fire up the coal furnace sometime next week, maybe in honor of Halloween! I remember last year I fired it up on Oct 15, not knowing what a brutal winter was in store for us. Maybe not having to fire it up until almost two weeks later is a harbinger of a warmer than usual winter coming?

Dennis,
Do you burn wood in your Yukon, or coal only? My Eagle I is 12 years old. They are great furnaces. Mine is easier to control burning wood, with our temps here up and down like a yoyo. If it's below 0* outside, I put coal in. I wish you an easy Winter. We get what you have, 2 days later!!!
Cheers
