It is pretty tight and there is not a lot of in and out movement of the grate shaft either.

The most desired base burner in the world is an Art Andes.
These were all high end stoves, extremely well made and desirable.
There will be someone who will need or want it. Or it's money in the bank for a rainy day.
I wouldn't trade it out with the Crawford 40. It's still an Oak even though a very good one.

Here is the Andes crown jewel. An Art Andes.
Thank you William for the comments. I would not want to change out my Kineo with this stove either but I think the quality is phenomenal. There are things I like about this stove better than the Kineo. I like the finial a lot better and I also like the foot rail on this stove. It will be fun to clean this stove up and line the firepot.

I meant Kineo woops. The pictures I posted came out of the 1904 catalog. Your stove is obviously a later model, I would say 1910 plus a few years.

@ William, the seller gave me some documentation that he had collected about the stove. In that documentation was a copy of a 1913 catalog showing my stove. It sold for $40.50 with the return flue pipe. I will photograph the catalog today when it gets lighter out and post it.

Here is a copy of the catalog that shows my stove (517) in it. I am going to upload two other catalog photos, not of my model but they do give a good description of the stoves.

Wow, love the catalog. Now you can compare the 1904 version to the post 1910 one.

Yes, I was pleased to find them in the folder the seller gave me. He must have been into the antique stoves quite a bit as there was several publication of "The Antique Stove Exchange". There was also membership roster and handbook for The Antique Stove Association. There was also an article about the stove manufacturer and some of their history.

Does that catalog have a Round Andes base heater in it? I have been looking for information on that particular stove for a long while.

Very nice stove, looks to be in mint condition. The nickel will probably get very nice with a little cleaning ...but it gives a high-class look to the stove as is.
Bravo :!:

Thank you Nortcan, I am very pleased with this stove. It is in excellent condition and will be fun cleaning it up. I have not done anything to it yet because other projects to get done before winter. It has been torture to not get right into the cleaning of her. I agree the nickel will look pretty good with some polishing, it won't be pristine but won't look bad either. If I did not already have the Kineo baseburner in the living room, this stove would go there.

I found the complete 1904 Geneva Andes catalog in PDF format. Sorry William, it did not have the Geneva Round stove in it that you have been looking for.
