And I can zoom in on the mano like this for critical inspection during warm weather burns.

What powers the cameras? It would be very cool if you could break out the 2 unused pairs if low voltage powered as 2 pair should run the Ethernet I think, may be wildly wrong there. If Battery would work I would reload them even if once a month and use wireless as I have a buried cable and switch to the shop with wireless access point and would be more inclined to use them as outside security.

It's powered by this 5 volt adapter. You could run it off a car or motorcycle battery for a long time if you dropped the voltage with a resistor. The router powers the Ethernet.

There are outdoor cameras by D-link also, for the application of security.

wth an app running on it called Manything. And I thought that was pretty slick until I read this thread... Lol

Thank you sir, It's pretty easy, I had to buy a 100 foot Ethernet cable to run to my router from the camera. You can find then at Home Depot or online. I'm very happy with the camera, it has never failed me. Any questions, I'd be happy to help.

It would be very cool if they made a wireless outdoor with a solar charger and motion detector or do they and if I found them just out of my budget? It would be equally cool if motion was detected it sent a signal to the computer to record what the camera sees and potentially triggers an alarm of some sort and turned on outside building lights. They probably do and when I saw the price tag said never mind.

They make them and they run about $300 and up. The lower cost ones don't have the switch output to turn on a light but have motion detection for the camera and will snap and send pics to an email you specify based on this trigger. (be cheaper to have a separate motion activated light probably) You set the time period this trigger is active. If you have power and don't need the solar you can get them as cheap as $35 for an indoor unit or $70 for an outdoor version.

I picked up some WiFi cameras for around the house, they work really well. remote control, motion, night vision, etc...
i might put one monitoring the stove too.
