I replaced my father-in-laws keystoker k6 with a new one today. Does anyone know what the economy Knob on the new control does?

Being shocked as I was learning that they(keystoker) have been installing and using digital readouts now
I would venture to guess the economy knob is no different than the company notch setting
on a steam locomotive wherein the boiler will steam only so hard no matter the demand.

So saying that - the stoker would only work so hard and deliver only so much coal until the economy
setting is turned off.

It should be discussed in the new boiler manual.

Is it a Hydrostat 3250 control?

If so, the economy setting will change how quickly the control changes the target temperature based on whatever it measures. I usually set it at #1 or #2 and turn the pre-purge feature on.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't get a manual for the control (or it was misplaced) found a manual online.
