I've been cleaning and painting the stove on and off for about two weeks. I was about to reinstall the air box this morning when I noticed that the new Quiet feed motor has restricted the shaker grate from moving back and forth properly.

It looks like the screws have deformed a metal bar. I have attached a few pictures which should explain the problem better than words. Has anyone else had this problem or am I cursed like I was with the Quiet combustion blower which I had to return?

What's wrong? Is that deformation contacting and binding the slider plate or otherwise preventing it from sliding fully forward? Can you back off that nut, bend the piece back flat, then use a washer in between that the the motor mount to allow it to be tightened without deforming?

The motor shaft is very short but I will try a washer.

I can't be the only person with this problem?

Dave,

I have never made a claim to be a mechanical genius like Archimedes, but if that motor is mounted backwards I'll send a Dunkin Donuts gift card to your Shop. ;)
