The back side of the pot looks rough, can I re cement this? For some reason I can't upload the pictures

Depending on how bad you should be able to use some furnace cement. I like a little coarser mix than Rutland (Imperial). Dampen surface before applying.

Yes, not good. Give it a shot with furnace cement. You can always do a better job with castable refractory from Rutland. Take out anything powdery first and dampen. I have used Imperial furnace cement carried by True Value hardware stores to feather the final taper on bricks I have cut which is asking a lot, but stands up well. Might have to add a little water to get just the right troweling consistency, but don't overdo it.

This stove gives you the option of using a slicing poker which is much more effective than shaking alone. Like the Godin the ash pan is small though

Yes I think so. I would just repair what was required, not re-line the whole thing.

I believe that after looking at the parts book and the pictures more, it has something like fire brick.. If I'm not mistaken
