Just purchased and installed a Leisure Line Pioneer stove. Stove didn't come with the feed motor when purchased, Leisure Line was great to deal with and sent a motor to me. I installed the motor, tested with Coal-Trol and found the feed motor was not functional. Removed motor, plugged direct into outlet and motor spins, installed back on stove does not spin. Removed again, plugged into outlet, spins, put shield on motor when removed and motor stops, removed shield and it spins. The steel shield seems to be creating a magnetic field as the shield is magnetized when the motor is plugged in not allowing the motor to spin. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks

You purchased it from a dealer that robbed parts from it. I tested the motor personally before it shipped to you. Are you sure you are installing it the correct orientation. I have never seen where the cover caused this issue. You can run it without it.

Yes sir, orientation of the motor is correct. I have it installed on the stove without the shield and stove works properly. I am in no way saying anything bad about Leisure Line, you are a great company and wish more we're like you. If I hold the motor in my hand off of the stove it works fine, with it still in my hand slide the shield over it the motor just hums and stops the motor but the motor tries to run, remove the shield and it runs. I can feel the magnetic files as I move the shield toward and away from the motor. Just asking a question, by no means complaining, you and your company are far and few between. Thank you for the great service, dealer was the issue.

The only time I saw the cover cause and issue was when someone used 2 sets of nuts one set to hold the motor on and one set to hold the cover. Its typical to feel the eddy currents when putting the cover close by but it should not stop the motor. We can replace it if need be.
