Hi Franco:
Thanks for the complement on the restoration. Your correct the Locke120 holds 100 pounds at a load. I doubt the Charter Oak can hold much more than 20 pound per fill.
I'm finding with the Locke I can idle this stove between 175 and 200 degrees and keep my 750 sq. feet downstairs a comfortable 69 to 72 degrees.
Outside temps have been mid teens day time and lows of 7 degrees at night, lot of wind this week gusting to 29. Average daily coal consumption has been 33 pounds per day Anthracite nut coal.
I know it's a simple stove, however anything this warm when it's that cold outside becomes quite charming.
