O.K. Here it is my very first coal delivery. My only complaint is that the driver didn't have a chute to control where the coal goes. Therefore, I had to put my back into a shovel. But it still beats dealing with wood.

Yeah, how about that. They came while my 16 & 10yr old boys where out. Or I would have had them do the honors of getting it to the right place.tsb wrote:Well, at least some of it went in the right place !

Same thing I was thinking. I mean he must drive around dumping coal on people property leaving them to get it where it needs to be. All I can say is it still beats the hell out of chopping and stacking wood for the limited heat out put.Lightning wrote:Seems like a chute would be a necessity if yer gonna deliver coal... geez lol
The chute is the way to go. Not exactly what I expected, but worked for my purpose. The chute was a conveyer belt with grooves to catch the coal as It fell out a trap door on a dump truck. Chute was about 12'long and 6' high at the top, 6" wide track, could have fit nicely through a low window. I used a tarp for the last bits, he opened the whole dump bed to get it clean. Wear a respirator if you'll be close, it can get dusty.
