Are coal prices dropping in your area because of the low oil prices?

Excellent question. This should be a case whereby the farther you are from the breakers the lower your price should be at present vs. recent years past. I locked in my pricing back in May, so I will not benefit (this season) from the lower oil prices.tikigeorge wrote:Are coal prices dropping in your area because of the low oil prices?

Just called Aerni and Hitzel in Easton pa. Three tons @$296. Four tons @ $2.86.
Breaker prices for coal don't fluctuate that much. What moves is the fuel cost for delivery which in our area is done by independents that charge what the market will bear. There are a LOT of coal delivery guys in our area and everyone knows what everyone charges so they keep it close to each other. Where they do good is the speed of delivery and the neatness of their delivery.
