New to stoker stoves. Today was the first cold day and I had to turn up the stove. It is burning in a v shape. Is this normal? I though it should be a straight line.

You may getting excess fines accumulated under the grate and effecting the air pattern going around them to get out grate holes.

Some can get to the fines w/ removing the combustion fan and adding a small tube to their shop vac to go in w/o removing the grate.
