Yep... That is a Monkey Ward Laundry Stove and coal is the normal fuel. As a kid we had one these that was used as an "End Table" in the living room. If the grate and firepot are in good shape you could use this unit. I would line the firepot myself. Would be a perfect stove for someones hunting shack or man cave.

Does the stove have "over, under" connections for a water jacket? I have heard this stove should be lined as previously stated if water is not running through it.

I could be wrong on this, but I think they were made to just place a laundry tub on top to heat the water. I do not believe there is a water jacket on this stove.michaelanthony wrote:Does the stove have "over, under" connections for a water jacket? MA, I agree, there are some that do have water fitting and water jacket in them. This one is a lower end and smaller unit and I think was just for sitting a tub on top.
May I ask what they are asking for the stove in the shop you are talking about?

I might be interested in something like this in the future. I am thinking about a small greenhouse, and this would work well to run heated water under the ground. With the ground heated up, it would keep it warm even after the fire went out.michaelanthony wrote:The tag said 125.00 I have the owners looking for glenwoods for me...they go to auctions and stuff.Photog200 wrote:MA, I agree, there are some that do have water fitting and water jacket in them. MA, besides, I drove to Maine to get my Kineo and my Clarion range, I really don't want to drive there this time of year. Especially with the weather we have been having!

Thank you for your help I think that I will hook it up and give it a try, there is no water jacket with this one it is just a little laundry stove I found an old add for one of these and it showed them with a wash tub on top of it which would explain why it is so short it makes the wash tub a perfect height for scrubbing on a wash board I think that it is a pretty neat stove and will be a fine addition to my house I will take a picture of it when I get it hooked up
Thanks again for your help

Isn't that a coincidence back in 1972 my mom bought a lawn mower from them it was one of those safety ones that had plates under the back half of the mower so if your foot went under it the blade would not hit it the only problem was if the grass was a little tall it would plug up every two feet it was the last thing we bought from monkey wards but I will say, you could not kill that mower it was one tuff son of a gun
