Something went very wrong if you burned a whole hopper and cooled off in 12 hours. It would have been BLAZING hot to burn all that. If that happened and it wasn't nuclear, not sure what could have happened.

Seems unrealistic--BUT, he's heating 2500 sq stove set on 12--real possible considering all that--my house would be a sauna & with that video--in my world, that would be serious over-firing! Who the hell knows. M has been given some good suggestions to address--time will tell.

I think I may have had crappy coal. I bought a different brand this time (blaschak instead of reading) and this seems to be burning alot better and hotter actually hit 350 with dial at 9 . These bags seem to have more uniform sized chunks than the other stuff. Last night it burned good and I woke up to it still going with about a 1/4 hopper left

Yep, sounds pretty close to mine. Glad you're pulling some heat finally.

Poke around the forum You can get near up to 48 hours w/o a serious refill with this stove

I've yet to try 48 hours. Burning pretty hard I have no problem getting 24. I usually tend around 12-14, with no issues, but it's nice to have that buffet if I can't get home.

Silly wood burners think 6 hours is a nice long burn.

If you monkeyed with the thermostat chain, maybe someone with a 50-93 can give you a bead count to get you back on track. My 50-93 is not here, or I'd give you the count myself. Oliver

22 beads from the thermostat to the vent door is standard around here.
