Stove coal wont work with the hopper. Nut burns hotter and faster, pea cooler and slower. Try both. Was just talking yesterday about a nut-pea mix. Works pretty good. I prefer nut or nut/pea mix.

Don't know if the grates on your 30-95 are different then my 50-93 but I find that the pea size stuff likes to end up in the ash pan. If you want to burn a mix buy the Blaschak nut in bags. Lots of small stuff. I like the true nut size of the TSC Kimmel. Little to no small stuff & after adjusting my stove/baro for the Kimmel I'm getting excellent burn times.

JohnB. I also use Kimmel brand coal been using it for a couple years now, it seems to burn very hot and do pretty well ordered a new manometer to get that baro set perfect. Tractor Supply around me does not sell coal. I buy mine from a local lumber yard that sells it. I was just curious about the pea coal see how well it did.

I burn pea in my 30-95 all the time. Nut burns nice as well. I prefer the pea for 30-95, and nut for 50-93. Near Letchworth State Park, Call Phil Cox Coal at 585-468-2180. Phil (Father) or Rodney (Son) would be your man. They are located in Hunt, NY.

my stove will burn pea or nut ... got tired of any ratio mixture and just run nut now....just dial her down to idle (130F/stove top) when temps are warmer.

Pea works fine. We even burned buck for a few weeks in our 50-93 when that is all we had. :)
