on the aa 260 you have two wires going to the motor a blue and white. does it matter witch one goes on witch of the two terminals on the motor. (Marathon B317) also do you have to remove or change any of the wires that are already hook up. have 12/2 stranded going to the motor. thanks

It's been a while but I'll guess there is a terminal with a white wire. White to white.

Here is a schematic for hot water if you need it. If you have steam let me know. Like coaledsweat said, should be apparent where neutral is when you open motor. If not post pic.

Here is a wiring diagram for your motor.

Thanks Guys. new motor / new install. White goes to # 2 , have blue on other nut. but when I put power (110) to the blue and white wire at the 4" box on furnace with no belts motor seems to work fine. capacitor kicks in it runs and kicks out when it slows down. Now when I hook up the blower belt it starts slow and the capacitor won't kick in or out ? is 12 gauge stranded ok from 4" box to motor or should it be solid wire? hard to bend solid around in motor. thanks

# 12 stranded wire is perfect.

If you are dealing w/ a 7-wire motor here is the hook up:
There is more than a blue and a white to deal with.
I'm thinking you would want CCW hook up for LOW Volts (120V)

I went through this when I changed mine, it isn't the wires. See McGiever's post.
