I want to give a big thank you to all the members of NEPACrossroads. This site gave me very valuable information to help make the installation of my new to me AA-130 go smoothly. If you remember I had two issues when I first bought this used 1961 unit. The return fitting on the auger side was bad, the threads had rusted/corroded over the years. Attached is a photo of the new half coupling that was welded on.
The other issue I had was the auger end that picks up the coal from the bin was damaged. I was able to cut off about 12" of the auger tube and weld on a new piece. It now works great, sorry no photos of this.
I have attached a few more photos, I know the AA owners like to see pictures. I heat a 4,500 sq ft home, built in 2004, all in floor radiant. It is a constant circulation system that uses a 4 way mixing valve to adjust the water temperature that circulates through the floors based on outside temperature.
As I sit in my warm house in Binghamton NY, getting hit with a big snow storm, I can hear the coal rattling in the auger, music to my ears!! No more fuel oil!! Thanks again to everyone!

Beautiful job! My only suggestion is to get a cap for that boiler drain on the return...it is easy to hook that handle with a pant leg and get a hot foot, don't ask me how I know.

Make sure you clean the horizontal smoke pipe every year.

Thanks for the tip Rob R. I was worried about someone turning it in curiosity, but for sure it could be bumped. I'll cap it or take the handle off.
Don, it's in the garage. I have one unit installed. It is used for a dump zone, but I also have it wired so that I can turn it on when ever I want. It is nice at times to add some extra heat to the garage when needed. It is made by Outdoor Furnace Supply, 47,000 BTU heater. It works well.
Thanks for the compliments.
Jesse

Nice, clean looking install! Glad to see I'm not the only one to mount the ol girl with the auger against the wall. Enjoy your warmth. Once dialed in, these little locomotives are incredible.
