When I get coal delivered two people arrive with the truck. Is this normal? One is in the truck dump area and the other is in the basement moving the shute and raking the coal, I can do that! I'm thinking that is why I'm paying $286/ton. How do you get your coal?

I think $286 a ton delivered is a good price and I would be more than happy to pay it up here. If you don't want someone in your basement that is another subject but I strongly suspect the company will still send 2 people.

It's certainly easier with 2 people but probably 90% of the places can be done with one person as long as they know what they are doing. It's certainly not rocket science but something like being able to tell if the coal is backing going to back up simply from the sound is just a lot of experience.

I always worked by myself but 15 years of personal experience, the right tools and 4 generations adds up to a lot. If I came across any really tough ones I'd make some suggestions on how to change their setup. If they weren't willing to make the changes no more delivery from me.

If you ever gone buy a construction site, (union workers), contracted by the state, you'll see 1/2 a dozen people standing around with clip boards, coffee cups, and cell phones, all watching one poor shmuck pitching dirt with a shovel. I don't think 2 people delivering coal is that bad. Who knows, maybe one of them was a trainee.

We have some drops that you need 2 men on. When the highlift shows up, are you getting a full truck load. Because if not, maybe the next drop of 2 or 3 ton might require the second man. Or the drop before your took 2. I know I don't pay my guys to sit and watch each other.
