I just topped off and came in at 1,245 lbs of coal loaded into the AHS for the month of November. If I assume ~4 lbs. per day for DHW and the rest for home heating, this comes to ~1,125 lbs of coal burned to keep us warm.
We racked up a total of 852 HDD's in November for this area of Ohio.
1,125 / 852 = 1.32 lbs. of coal consumed per HDD for November.

Larry,
I loaded 1720 pounds into the Yellow Flame in November. And it burned it all up!
Oh, and it heated the house and DHW.
