Well I finally got one, bought a coral Andes 213 baseburner, the one that was listed on here on Craigslist that I posted, its in a little rough shape, some cracks here and there, no big deal though, I'm sealing it up and hopefully will have it fired by Saturday, I will post pics tomorrow! The garage should be toasty warm now!

Yes that it is the stove, was in redwood ny, guy claimed it was missing a nickel plate on the side, but when we arrived I found it under the stove! Haha my father in law originally bought it, but just bought a different stove so I bought it from him, he did not like the way it performed, so I'm gonna give a crack at it and with the help of these fine people here hopefully we can make it what there talked up to be! Its got some cracks in the base chamber and on top under the decorative "hat" that some would probably worry about, but there sealed up with Rutland silicone furnace cement and they've held so far this winter, one of the reasons its goin in the garage. The stove itself is sound and sturdy.

I keep hoping to stumble on one like this in a customers basement. Amazing works of art.

I always think of Jay Leno's words when talking about brass era cars. "Built when labor was cheap and technology was expensive."

I don't think anyone could afford to reproduce these stoves today. Just the pattern making alone would be big bucks.

Yup. If starting with just drawings the patterns would run well up in the tens of thousands.

Had a customer who's touring car was in a roll over. The estimate just to cast a new five piece bronze windshield frame was $8500.00. Casting the five pieces would be less then $1000.00. The rest was making patterns for the frame - which is much simpler then the parts on that base heater.
