I'm a relative newbie going into my fourth year burning coal and I love it. I preach it everywhere I go, proselytizing wherever I can. I love the smell of wood smoke but the gratification of learning how to maintain a coal fire for more than one day in a row...my old record...is tremendously rewarding.

I can keep her going for days at a time now. There will be struggles, I suspect, but you will do just fine.
