- Coal Size/Type: Anthracite Rice
- Other Heating: Weil Mclain WGO-2 (Net 75k BTU)
I don't know why but 71 is about the most we like. The house is all on one zone and that keeps the bedroom around 68-70.

2200 sf house, 2-story house. Keystoker Koker (160) in the basement, connected to first floor ductwork. One floor vent from first to second floor to allow heat to second floor. Thermostat set to 70-72 so far.
Installed and fired up Nov. 3, have used 1.25 tons since, averaging about 50 lbs per day. I was going to guess 70-80 lbs, but when I looked back and calculated I was surprised. I guess the milder days really do keep the average on the low side. The stoker has me spoiled, I'll admit. With more days in the 40's and even 50's this week, I look forward to the drop in usage to "save" for the harsh temps to come. Although, I do look forward to just a little extreme cold (is that a good thing?), to watch her keep us toasty warm, which is a first for us in this house, been there 16 years now. Why did I not find coal sooner???
EDIT: Second floor (bedrooms) so far stays around 66 degrees. Curious to see how that holds up when the really cold weather hits.

Ok windhill4.2 Thanks for the heads up. Take a look.windyhill4.2 wrote:ShawnTRD & Tee fire , the rest of us see your usage posted & glance to the right at your profile to see whether you live in Jamaica Or Manitoba to compare with our location's temp . Lo & behold neither one of you have your town & state in your profile. Now I did live in Jamaica for a little while so I know you don't live there or you wouldn't be heating with coal,as it doesn't get cold enough to warrant coal heat.No one yet has been stolen because they filled this info in their profile, you could be the first tho .
