When ordering replacement parts end of last year(coal feed motor died), I also ordered new fan motors so I would have replacements. I just installed the new combustion fan motor as the one on the stove was squeaking a lot and oil would not do the trick any longer. When changing out the blower I noticed instead of a nice Fasco blower Hitzer sent a cheap Dayton that should be running a clock instead of a blower. This piece of junk doesn't even have oil holes on it. Any how, two day in and it all ready sounds like it has marbles in it. Checked and fan cage is not loose or off center. Any ideas or just bite the bullet and buy a Fasco. If I would have known the junk I was going to get I would have ordered it myself on line. :no1:

I would send the junk blower back to Hitzer and ask for a refund.

And buy a blower that fits you needs.

Did the wifey say that the marbles you heard are in your head ?

Just kidding ....

Not sure how the blower is attached to your stove but make sure it is seated tightly. Your description of marbles sounds familiar.

I will get a good bit of marble-like noise from the distribution blower on mine but it is because of vibration between the blower flange and where it slides into the fitting on the stove body, not the blower motor itself. A small wedge behind the blower flange tightens it up and gets rid of the vibration.

I bought a new replacement combustion blower for my keystoker as a backup (of course a while ago), and it sounds the same way, like marbles rolling around in it. same, no oil holes or anything. I did get my old one apart, cleaned and works like a charm, will be changing it back when I get a chance over my new years shutdown. :)

After 3 Fascos I put on a Dayton and it vibrates way less. :rimshot:

No marbles in my head but maybe a loose screw. The fan bolts on with 4- 1/4 bolts and I put some high temp silicon on the blower flange to take out any chance of vibration. I did save the old Fasco blower as it still worked, just loud. Will try to clean it up and oil it again. Thanks All! :)
