I sense a full restoration coming up...replacement fender paint will look too nice...the rest of the truck will have to be lovingly restored. :D

Find a good used fender & install it regardless of its paint color, even the guard rails will be scared of your Blazer then. :fear:

Unless you have to repair it 'nice'. I'd leave it functional until spring.. otherwise Mr Murphy will put ANOTHER guardrail out in front of it, and all your work will need to be repeated !

Like H Bob said: a little rubbing compound and back on the road.

It's been 0* each morning, out here in the country.. the 'official' lows have been about 5*.
Right now, Tuesday morning, the sky is clear, we had an inch or two of snow overnight, so I need to sweep off the
solar panels again, but since it's been so crappy lately, I'll be glad for the very cold sunlight.

You're lucky to have the talent and tools to make the repairs. Glad to hear the wife wasn't physically hurt, probably hurt her feelings though. John
Thanks Ricoman. She was afraid I was going to flip out ... but like I said, that's why we drive winter beaters. Yeah no doubt God has hooked me up in more ways than just that - for that I am grateful. 8-)

I hear you John - I was just going thru that while shopping for parts. " Gee ... I might as well replace this, and this, and this ..." .... before you know it, the bill is approaching 4 figures! I slapped myself out of it before I went too far down the wormhole.

Ended up buying all new parts, although their country of origin is far from this one. I think the fender came from "Me soooo hoooornny", and the core support from " Me love u longtime!" :woot:

Got to get this damn thing out of here. I think I'll be doing oil changes out in the driveway in sub zero temps the way things are looking.

I think I might spring for a set of new tires for this thing while I'm at it. Apparently these Winterforces have hardened up a bit, even though there's still plenty of tread left. 5 years old this year, and they've been on it through all 5 summers too - not a good way to prolong winter tire life. This will approach 4 figures if I do that though. Maybe I'll get the Vulva ... err ... Volvo running instead .... :D
