Thimble perpendicular to the chimney (slight rise as mentioned), 45* @ stove exit, diagonal to 45* @ thimble is better. Rain gutters work better this way as well :idea:

Coal Size/Type: BLASHAK Nut and Stove size
Other Heating: Blower from a gas furnace if I need to move air, no heat
