I finally had to scrap the bbq that took the famous ride to the Lake Shore RD. The Weber that replaced it is stored inside, so if it blows away I will have bigger problems than no place to grill burgers.

You bring up a good point about the electrical demand. I'm sure LOTS of people are using electric space heaters, plus there are lots of central heating systems running at a very high duty cycle. Makes me wonder what the cumulative impact is on the NE power grid...or perhaps I don't want to know. :cry: I just lit the pilot on the VT Castings propane stove....38k BTU ready for action if the power goes out, enough to keep the chill off until I can get the generator fired.

Looks like I was right about the temperature. Currently -6 here, wind at 14mph, real feel at -29. At about 4:45 am power flashed 3 times, then there was an explosion very close to my house. Electric company showed up a few minutes ago.
